रविवार को सिंधु ने वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप के महिला एकल फाइनल में जापान की नोजोमी ओकुहारा को हराकर इतिहास रच दिया वह इस टूर्नामेंट का खिताब जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय महिला खिलाड़ी बन गई है ,इन्होंने अपनी मां के बर्थडे गिफ्ट के रूप में समर्पित की है    पीवी सिंधु ने निजामी ओकुहारा को 21-7 ,21-14 से पराजित किया
2019 के डीडब्ल्यूएफ वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप बैडमिंटन टूर्नामेंट 19 से 25 अगस्त तक St .jakobshalle in Basel   Switzerland में आयोजित किया गया था
